
Margaret Vincentia Daly was born on July 7, 1920 in Lompoc, California to Jim and Nellie Daly. Peggy was the youngest of six daughters who were raised on a ranch just north of Mission Hills. She died April 13, 2013 surrounded by her family.
Peggy attended local schools and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1938. Her first job was at the former Moore’s Department Store. She then went to work for the local Johns-Manville plant as a bookkeeper. After several years, she began dating her boss. Soon the young Miss Daly was married to Ray “Pooley” Jacobs.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Mary Jacobs; Patti & Bruce Coggin; Harry & Paula Jacobs; Jim & Michelle Jacobs; and Margaret & Jarrett Tennant. Survivors also include her grandchildren; Christopher, Jeffrey & Sharon, and Natalie Coggin; Josh & Joelle Jacobs; Dillon Jacobs: Matthew Hunt; Jessica & AJ Jacobs; Nikki, Tori and RJ Tennant. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren; Andrew, Elena, Hailey, Makayla and Derek.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Pooley; her parents, and her sisters; Mary Feeley, Nan Haggerty, Dorothy Huyck, Eveleen Bremmerman and Norma Dimock.
Vigil services for Peggy will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church, her parish of over 92 years, at 7:00pm on Thursday, April 18. Prior to the vigil, visitation will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary from 4:00-6:00pm. Father Tom Cook and Father Richard Vega will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at La Purisima Church at 11:00am on Friday, April 19th. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
