This weekend’s Santa Barbara Culinary Experience has been delayed until next year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new dates for the inaugural SBCE, in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, are March 12-14, 2021.
Amanda Moose, executive director of the SBCE, explained organizers were unable to implement social distancing of 6 feet at its 45-plus events.
SBCE organizers emailed ticket holders and told them they could get a refund if they replied by Monday. In an emailed statement, Ms. Moose said refunds would come within the next 15 business days.
Ms. Moose added that people could also choose to donate the value of their ticket back to the foundation. She said it is 100% tax-deductible.
Ms. Moose also noted several of SBCE’s partners have decided to proceed on their own with their Julia Child-themed events and will email people directly to be re-ticketed.
