Sarah Margaret Nichols Kimerlin, a resident of the Santa Ynez Valley for nearly four decades, died in Solvang, California on March 20 with loved ones by her side. She was 87.
Born in Rexburg, Idaho, she came to Los Angeles in the 1940s. There, she met Philip Kimerlin, to whom she was married for 56 years. They lived in San Luis Obispo before settling in Buellton. He died in 2005.
A retired teacher, Margaret was a gifted artist and writer, a devoted wife, and a nurturing friend, sister and aunt who never lost her sense of humor.
