85, recently of Clovis, CA, beloved mother of four and dear friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2013. She was born in Syracuse, NY and distinguished herself as a first rate secretary, typist, stenographer, and executive assistant. She went on to have a family with four children whom she nourished and encouraged with her unfailing cheerfulness and love. Life took her all across the country, to the Washington, DC area, Cheyenne, WY, Walnut Creek, CA, and she eventually landed in Clovis, CA. She is predeceased by her husband, Wallace, who was Director of the Fresno Veteran’s Administration Hospital from 1976-1980.
Charlene will be remembered for her creativity, her love of gardening, reading, music, knitting, and cooking — and her incredible organization skills. She had once enjoyed piano playing, and she possessed a beautiful singing voice. Most of all, her beautiful and loving spirit was a great resource for her four children who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her son Robert, in Santa Barbara, CA, her son Alex, in Omaha, NE, her son William, in Lompoc, CA and her daughter Connie, in Fresno, CA, in addition to three grandchildren, Christopher, in Fresno, CA, and Jamie and Kristin, in Omaha, NE.
