GAVIOTA The northbound No. 1 lane of Highway 101 at the Gaviota Tunnel will be closed March 30 through April 3 for drainage repairs and erosion control.
The lane will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure is part of an emergency contract so Caltrans can conduct repairs and perform erosion control near an embankment, officials said.
The 101 Gaviota rest areas remain closed. Motorists are reminded to move over and slow down when driving through construction zones.
The contractor for the $1 million project is Souza Construction of Santa Barbara.
