
Died July 20, 2013 at age 98 in Santa Barbara, California. She was born September 17, 1914 in Logan, Ohio, the oldest of three children. She graduated from Columbus schools and attended the Ohio State University. In 1936, she married W. Donald Larrick, and together they raised four daughters. Bea loved people, loved language, and wrote many stories about her life and the lives of family and friends. She always had a joke to tell, Bea was skilled at handcrafts and loved to knit, sew, create with crewel embroidery, and weave baskets. Many family evenings were spent singing together, while she played the piano.
She retired from the Western Electric Co. in 1975. In 1070, she and her husband left Ohio to live in Yuma, Arizona. After his death, Bea moved to Santa Barbara where she resided at Valle Verde Retirement Community. She is survived by three of her four daughters: Heng Ch’ih (Lois Larrick)of Mudgeeraba, Australia; Sandra Conrad of Hampton, Virginia; and Judith Randall of San Francisco, California; and grandchildren, Aaron Horton and Jeniffer Randall. She is preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Gail. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
