We are currently paying a terrible price with mass killings. It did not used to be that way. What has changed?
I remember the Santa Barbara High School parking lot in the 1960s. It was common to see a pickup truck with gun rack in the rear window with one or more rifles. Today that would generate multiple 911 calls.
The difference? All reference to God and Judeo-Christian values have systemically been removed from the schools and our culture. We are into our second generation of people raised in an absolute moral vacuum.
Post-birth abortion is now available in some states. That carries the underlying message that life is very cheap. Yes, some people will chaff living under Judeo-Christian morality, but statistically they will be less likely to die in a mass killing. Some students were not Christian or Jewish, but enough of that culture would rub off via osmosis to preclude the nihilistic shooting gallery mentality so prevalent today.
Contrary to the “1984” Orwell type history revisionists, the U.S. was founded by Christians drawing on the Old and New Testaments for the founding documents. That has produced the most liberty and wealth in the history of the world. A free society cannot function without a belief in God. Without that moral base, entropy reigns throughout the culture.It is impossible to pass, much less enforce, enough laws to make that society run as anything other than a slave state.
