The time has come for California’s liberal social experiment to come to an end. It has become extremely apparent that all attempts to make California the place it’s preached to be have failed to materialize. Every single experimentation — from traffic to welfare to social parity to schools, to so-called climate change, homelessness, massive invasions — everything. Not a single liberal ideal has produced any changes for the good. Instead, things have gotten exponentially worse, and it is being said that California is destined to become a third-world state.
First, we’ve finally reached the top, as of July 1, paying the highest gasoline tax in the nation. We can all feel even better now when filling up our cars that 79.18 cents a gallon in taxes and fees will go to governmental agencies with the promise of cleaner air, better roads and any other stuff politicians can make up, into us believing it’s for our own good.
And so we wait and wait and wait for the potholes to get fixed and the highways to be repaired. In the meantime, we’re being fleeced over and over again, paying in some cases over $2 more a gallon than the rest of the country. For this we are supposed to be grateful? And we have all those voters to thank who continue to get snookered with false promises how all these fees and taxes are really needed this time more than ever.
So we dutifully pay all the extra money with the hope of seeing a return on our investment. In the meantime, our environmentally conscious state boasts how tons of dollars also go toward combating ever-dangerous climate change. Our chest-puffing “leaders” profess how California is always at the forefront and sets the example of what everyone should emulate. Then how come California was hit with having the worst three polluted cities in the nation? How can that possibly be? With cap-and-trade, huge gas taxes designed to reduce emissions and massive regulations to accomplish the same, we’re still in worse shape than when we started. In the end we’re made to financially suffer for our leaders’ ineptness.
On the social level, there are two huge issues ballooning faster than you can sweep up the poop and needles. The first is the homeless crisis and the second is the “Americans be damned” policy of putting illegals first.
In order to dance around how to deal with the rapidly growing homeless crisis, politicians, in their good, old-fashioned way, point the blame everywhere but themselves — affordable housing, not enough shelters, need more money. Well, the affordable housing finger is pointed right back at them. With thousands of regulations and the high costs associated with them, you can’t afford to build affordable housing. And with the corruption of some millions going to help the homeless, most of the money stops in the offices of the do-gooders who pay themselves first and then cry there’s not enough left over for the drug users, mentally ill, or just the bums who live in tents with solar power and WiFi.
At the same time, our state that imposes an ungodly amount of rules and regulations upon its citizenry on how to take care of the environment are blind and silent about all the human waste, trash, needles and disease that flow freely to the ocean — the very ocean they banned straws from entering, because that’s the real crisis.
Another liberal program that has failed, and the other reason we need to end California’s extreme lunatic stranglehold, is putting illegal invaders ahead of taxpaying, homeowning insurance-paying voters.
Our new governor can’t figure out how to corral his ideological thinking and use logic to address the colossal growth of poverty in California, so he has to go to Central America and see how wonderful they’re handling the issue. He screamed the loudest when President Trump said he was going to send busloads of migrants to our sanctuary state, saying it was illegal. However, he didn’t seem to point out that by making California a sanctuary state was already an illegal act in the first place.
It shouldn’t, but it needs to be repeated — the color of anyone’s skin is irrelevant, but the complexion of California is being changed forever. There is no way to fix it anymore. We are past any hope of going back to what it was when California really was the Golden State. It’s glaringly apparent from the makeup of our schools that the up-and-coming new voters’ children are primarily from migrant families. In a few short years, these millions of children will be adults, and because of our laws, they are citizens.
You can argue all you want about the merits of our laws in this regard, but it doesn’t matter anymore. If in fact this has been the Democrats’ underlying agenda all along — and historically minorities vote Democratic because of all the free stuff they are offered — California will continue its spiral toward becoming that third-world state. However, wouldn’t it be a twist that since these minorities of today will be the majority of tomorrow, they become conservative? Now that would be funny.
The out-migration of the middle class is already in full swing by the thousands, as they are moving to more business-friendly and lower-taxing states. And when the day arrives and the likes of Google and other significant tech companies pull out, Democrats can raise the taxes to 100 percent, but there won’t be anyone left to pay them.
A doomsday, Negative Nellie prediction? No. It’s already going on, and we’re allowing it to happen. If we don’t stop this idiotic way of running our state, it won’t be our state. Liberals, illegals, homeless and hypocritical environmentalists will be left scratching their heads and wondering what happened.
