SANTA BARBARA The Santa Barbara Public Library will host a volunteer fair this weekend, showcasing more than 20 nonprofit and government organizations that represent various community impact areas.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Central Library, at 40 E. Anapamu St. It will offer residents who are passionate about community service to find available opportunities that serve their interests, Librarian Beate Bjoerklund said in a news release.
“Whether it is a retired individual seeking to dedicate their now free time to a cause, a high-school student needing to complete service credit, or any individual seeking to better enrich their lives through volunteering, there’s an organization waiting to take advantage of your skills,” Ms. Bjoerklund said. “This event will provide an opportunity for individuals to connect with local nonprofit and community organizations one-on-one to find the best match for their abilities, interests, and availability.”All library programs are free and open to the public.
