CARPINTERIA Highway 101 off-ramp at Linden Avenue will be closed for the next six to nine months, as the Linden and Casitas Pass Project continues, Caltrans officials said.
The off-ramps at Reynolds Avenue or Casitas Pass Road can instead be used to access the beach and downtown Carpinteria, according to a Caltrans news release.
Work continues on the retaining and back walls of the new Linden Avenue overcrossing. Crews are still working on the Casitas Pass Road overcrossing, specifically on the barrier rail and median planter.
On northbound Highway 101 between Linden Avenue and Franklin Creek, the block for the sound wall has been installed and crews are finishing up wall work in the area. On southbound Highway 101, block work for the new wall is complete and temporary fencing has been removed between Linden Avenue and Casitas Pass Road, and crews continue installing underground supports for the new wall between Franklin Creek and the Linden Avenue off-ramp.
Work is wrapping up on the footing for the new retaining wall on Via Real between Casitas Pass Road and Linden Avenue. Via Real is closed from Casitas Pass Road to the old northbound Highway 101 on-ramp.
