LINDSEY, Evelyn
On Monday, March 11, our family bade farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great- grand mother, Evelyn Lindsey, who recently celebrated her 83rd birthday.
“Nanny” was surrounded by those she loved most: her daughter, Jane Sprague with husband, Pat Sprague and sons Benjamin Kluver, Andrew Dale, and Patrick Dale; her daughter, Vicki Bartlett with spouse, Jimmie Thaten and children Sharon Landis with husband, Tim Landis, Jennifer Bartlett, and Christopher Presley and wife, Sarah; and her son, William Lindsey and grandson, Joseph Lindsey. Also in her thoughts were her great-grandchildren, Madison and Matthew Landis and Clint and Clara Presley. (Daughter-in-law and grandson, Karen and Richard Lindsey were not able to be present.)
Originally from Glens Falls, NY, Evelyn was a long-time resident of Santa Barbara where she worked as a cook at Goleta Valley Jr. High School cafeteria for many years. After retiring back to Glens Falls, she worked at JC Penney and managed the Trailways bus station, making many friends and gently touching the lives of all she met.
Evelyn always had a lively sense of humor and saw the good in everyone. She loved flowers, decorating, and especially her family. We will celebrate her life in a family gathering in April and escort her back to rest with her family in Granville, NY in the fall. We will all miss her very much.
