The Dos Pueblos Little League Juniors All-Star team beat Goleta Valley South, 4-2, on Monday to win the District 63 championship.
After GVSLL jumped out to a 2-0 lead, DPLL rallied with one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
DPLL manager Steve Buratto pointed to outstanding pitching for the victory, with Naythan Bojorquez, Sasha Holmes, Joe Talarico, Luke Varesio and Ryan Speshyock combining to shut down Goleta Valley. Talarico earned the win, while Speshyock tallied the save.
Dos Pueblos scored its first run on a squeeze bunt by Dylan Gesswein, with the last three runs coming via wild pitches.
DPLL advances to the Section 1 playoffs at 10 a.m. Saturday, hosted at Conejo Valley Ballpark in Thousand Oaks. The team will face the winner of the District 13 championship between Thousand Oaks and El Rio.
