Santa Barbara High turned back the clock a few years to find its new boys basketball coach.
Athletic director Joe Chenowith announced on Friday that former Dons player and assistant Corey Adam would take over for Dave Bregante, starting next season.
Adam comes back to Santa Barbara after one season as coach at Carpinteria High, where he led the Warriors to the CIF-Southern Section Division 5A semifinals, and a berth in the CIF State Division V playoffs.
Adam will replace Bregante, who left the program this spring after eight seasons, leading the Dons to a CIF-SS Division 3A semifinal berth.
The Dons return three starters, including point guard Stephen Davis and center Bryce Warrecker, the Channel League co-MVPs.
MORENO DE ALBORAN NAMED ALL-AMERICAN

The senior from New York City posted a 28-9 record in singles play, eventually reaching the Round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championship. He also was named Big West Players of the Year for the second straight season, claiming his fourth straight first-team All-Big West honor, the sixth player in Big West history to accomplish the feat.
