Santa Barbara High turned back the clock a few years to find its new boys basketball coach.
Athletic director Joe Chenowith announced on Friday that former Dons player and assistant Corey Adam would take over for Dave Bregante, starting next season.
Adam comes back to Santa Barbara after one season as coach at Carpinteria High, where he led the Warriors to the CIF-Southern Section Division 5A semifinals, and a berth in the CIF State Division V playoffs.
Adam will replace Bregante, who left the program this spring after eight seasons, leading the Dons to a CIF-SS Division 3A semifinal berth.
The Dons return three starters, including point guard Stephen Davis and center Bryce Warrecker, the Channel League co-MVPs.
