BOYS SOCCER
SAN MARCOS 2, HUENEME 0
Isaac Estrada and Jairo Guerrero scored long-distance goals in the first half to give the Royals all the offense they’d need in a non-league win over the Vikings.
“Hueneme did a good job in the second half to move the ball and created some good opportunities for them,” San Marcos coach Paul McClean said in a statement. “We were pleased with moments from our team but we looked rusty and lacked energy. There were some highlights besides the goal. AJ Ranii looked sharp and created several opportunities for others and some of his own and we kept a shutout.”
San Marcos, which opens Channel League on Thursday at Lompoc, improved to 8-3-3.
