SBCC 4, Cuesta 1
Mekaylla White returned from injury in a big way Tuesday night, as she scored a natural hat trick in SBCC’s victory over No. 15 Cuesta.
The Vaqueros (8-6-2, 5-1-1) outshot the Cougars 29-4 in the game. It was a season high in shots for SBCC, who also had a season high 19 shots on goal.
White, a freshman from Folsom who missed the last two games with a concussion, gave SBCC a 2-1 halftime lead after scoring on a breakaway. She struck again in the 52nd minute and registered her second hat trick in three games when she scored on a 12-yard strike in the 86th minute.
Her stellar performance Tuesday was considered a natural hat trick, in that all three goals were consecutive and uninterrupted by any other player scoring for either team. White now has 11 goals on the season, the second-most in the WSC North.
