Lompoc High girls soccer standout Ayziah Simmons took home All-Channel League offensive MVP honors while Dos Pueblos’ Elimia Kling earned defensive MVP honors.
Simmons led the Braves in scoring and also led them to their first Channel League title in school history, sharing the crown with Dos Pueblos.
Lompoc won its first CIF game under coach Jason Cochrane as well, as it defeated La Quinta in the first round of the CIF-SS Div. 4 playoffs.
As for the Chargers, Kling led them to a 2-0 shutout win over Lompoc that gave them the inside edge for a share of the league crown.
DP has won the past two Channel League titles. The 2019 title was the first in school history.
Kling led a Chargers defense that only gave up 17 goals in 18 games played. DP was bounced in the first round of the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoffs at home.
Santa Barbara, which finished third in the Channel League, and Dos Pueblos tied for the most athletes across the three All-Channel League teams with eight.
The players on the All-Channel League First Team are as follows: Santa Barbara’s Brianna Lopez, Hayden Randolph, and Sophia Capelletti; Dos Pueblos’ Isabella Vasquez, Kamilia Pickett, and Barbara Gonzalez; Lompoc’s Amy Bommersbach and Selena Garcia; Santa Ynez’s Olivia Torres and Jazz Feeley; Cabrillo’s Leslie Ramirez and Naomi Wiley and San Marcos’ Sophia Orozco.
On the All-Channel League Second Team are: Dos Pueblos’ Gizela Zermeno, Sasha Runyen, Precious Nwosu, and Payton Walker; Lompoc’s Breanna Contreras, Sarah Gavilanes, and Katie Guzman; Santa Ynez’s Amelia Villa, Claire Chirgwin, and Sarah Johnston; Santa Barbara’s Lizzie Goss, and Lia Rodriguez; Cabrillo’s Kaylee Galindo and Alexia Wilhite and San Marcos’ Lily Bienstock.
Finally, members of the All-Channel League Honorable Mention team consist of: San Marcos’ Anna Kirk, Kayla Julio, Julie Analiz, and Paige Ingram; Santa Barbara’s Athena Bow-Graham, Mikayla Thoits, and Kasia Wolf; Santa Ynez’s Rylee Fox, Briana Rodriguez Muro, and Peyton Lishman; Cabrillo’s Antoinette Terronez and Maya Mendek; Lompoc’s Sabrina Favela and Alondra Ibanez and DP’s Reyna Zuzunaga.
