
71, of Granbury, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Burleson, Texas.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Tex Cox, officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Virginia was born December 13, 1941 in Haskell to Ben F. and Martha Ann Pace Roberts. She was a 1960 graduate of Haskell High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from T.C.U. in 1964.
She lived in Illinois, West Germany and California, where she taught school for over 40 years. She recently moved back to Texas. Virginia was active in Southern Baptist Churches most of her life. In Santa Maria, she was very active in the Filipino Christian Church and last attended the Willow Park Baptist Church in Willow Park, Texas. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Mitzpah Chapter in Santa Maria where she served as a past Worthy Matron and Deputy Grandmatron.
Virginia was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She loved to read, sew, knit and crochet, especially baby blankets, which she donated to hospitals. She was a cancer fighter extraordinare. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Martha Roberts and a brother, Benny Roberts.
Survivors include: 1 Son – Steve Mallow and wife, Divine of Santa Maria, CA; 1 Daughter – Angela Cox and husband, Donny of Granbury; 2 Granchildren – Ian Mallow and Emma Cox; Uncle – Paul Grinstead of O’Brien; Numerous cousins, extended family and friends
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society for ovarian cancer research.
