SANTA MARIA A Santa Maria man was arrested in a stabbing Friday in the 3500 block of Madrone Court in the Tanglewood neighborhood near Santa Maria, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to at about 11:15 a.m. to a report of a fight involving several men. All involved parties fled when deputies arrived and investigation revealed the men knew each other and the altercation had resulted from a verbal dispute, Sgt. Daniel Calderon, spokesman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.
Deputies found a 39-year-old man who was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Calderon said.
The suspect, Raul Gonzalez, 40, was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $30,000 bail.
