SANTA BARBARA A 21-year-old man suffered moderate when he crashed into a tree Tuesday afternoon on Highway 101 near El Sueno Road, authorities said.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews responded to northbound 101 around 12:40 p.m. and found a white four-door vehicle that was mangled whey it the tree. It took fire crews 10 minutes to remove the driver, who was the lone occupant, according to fire officials.
The driver, whose name was withheld, was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via American Medical Response ambulance.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
