A man died early Saturday following injuries he suffered in a suspected assault, police said.
At approximately 12:54 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1000 block of Olive Street following reports of a male subject bleeding. Officers arrived on scene and found the man with numerous wounds consistent with an assault, Anthony Wagner, police spokesman, said in a news release.
The victim was transported by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, Mr. Wagner said.
The victim’s identity was withheld pending next of kin notification. No arrests have been made. An investigation is continuing.
