A man suffered major injuries when a paraglider went down Friday afternoon in the area of Cachuma Saddle in the Santa Ynez backcountry, authorities said.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded at about 1:45 p.m. with two engines and a helicopter.
The helicopter lowered a paramedic to the 42-year-old crash victim, who was treated before taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
