
Longtime music producer and movie executive passed away on February 24th, 2013. Born October 3, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA. to Dorothy and Robert Marks, Larry attended The Julliard School in New York before returning to write and produce music in Los Angeles.
A long time resident of Santa Barbara, he was a producer for Columbia and also A&M Records, and produced numerous artists, including Liza Minnelli, Helen Reddy, Phil Ochs, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Chad and Jeremy and Jimmy Webb. In 1973 Larry was hired at Warner Brothers Motion Pictures as Vice President of Music for film and TV, where he later became a Vice President of Production. Larry was also Senior Vice President of Productions at Raystar Films before spending a number of years as president of Marks Management, managing leading composers of movie scores.
Larry is survived by his brother Steven, his children, Michael, Kellyn, Jamie, and Ryan, and his seven grandchildren, Jack, Rebekah, Henry, Bennett, Simon, Jane and Catherine. A private family service to celebrate Larry’s life will take place Saturday, March 2, 2013. A larger service will be announced at a later date.
