
77, passed away on January 25, 2013 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA after battling cancer. She was born on April 3, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ. Charlotte grew up in New Jersey, Ohio, and Massachusetts. After high school, she attended Hickok Business College in Boston MA. Charlotte began her career at Raytheon where she met her husband, Donald Marley. They were transferred to Santa Barbara, CA in 1959 and started their family. Charlotte continued her career as an Accountant/Bookkeeper for various local companies.
Charlotte is survived by her Daughter Michelle Smith (John) of Denver, CO, Sons Mark Marley (Sylvia) of Goleta, CA, Greg Marley (Andrea) of Milpitas, CA., Step Son, Michael Marley of New York, NY and Half Brother, Alfred Pegal of Los Angeles, CA. She also had eight grandchildren, Luke and Michael Smith of Denver, CO, Delany, Ryan, and Cameron Marley of Goleta, CA, and Colin, Erin, and Ethan Marley of Milpitas, CA.
Charlotte enjoyed knitting, reading, playing Bingo, swimming, but most of all, spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be remembered by family and friends for being very loving and generous.
A Funeral service will be held at St. Raphael’s Church, 5444 Hollister Ave., Santa Barbara, CA. on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Goleta Cemetery, 44 S. San Antonio Rd., Santa Barbara, CA. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Rancho Embarcadero Community Center at 224 Vereda Leyenda St., Goleta, CA at 11:45 a.m.
