SANTA MARIA A community informational meeting will be held Monday night in Santa Maria to discuss how to prepare for a Public Safety Power Shutoff.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the hearing room the County Government Center, at 511 E. Lakeside Parkway. The power shutdown implemented by Southern California Edison or PG&E is aimed at reducing the risk of wildfires during critical fire weather and could result in multi-day power outages, according to Gina DePinto, county spokeswoman.
The community meeting will be streamed live on the county’s YouTube channel “CSBTV20” and a video of the meeting will remain on YouTube for viewing at a later date.
