Helga passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21st 2013 at the age of 86. She was a kind and gentle soul and a dear friend to many. Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1927, she left her home country in the fifties, worked in Switzerland and London, before coming to the United States in 1962. She worked her way across the United States from the East Coast and made Santa Barbara her home. Over the years she made many friends while working in the Restaurant business, at the Cafe Gourmet, the old Harbor Restaurant, the “Talk of the Town” and the Little Towns Club, where she worked as a waitress into her seventies. A special “ Thank you ” goes to the Prykhitko Family and their wonderful staff at Absolute Residential Care that took such loving care of Helga the last three and half years of her life as she suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease. Thank you Slava, Yelena, Olga, Alicia & Karen!! Thank you Dr. Glenn Hollingshead for your kindness and gentle care! You are Angels!!! Helga is survived by her Sister and 3 nieces in Germany, as well as her friends here in Santa Barbara. She was preceded in death by her Mother & Father. An Inurnment with a small Graveside Service will be held on Jan. 28th at 10:00 AM at the Goleta Cemetery.
