SANTA BARBARA The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center will host a mermaid and buccaneer themed day of family fun Aug. 24.
Mermaids & Buccaneers event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free for museum members. Non-members must pay admission to the museums, according to a news release.
Activities will include a Lego ship building station, face painting, storytelling, a treasure hunt and tattoo coloring books. Children are encouraged to dress up as a buccaneer, merman or mermaid to win “pirate treasure.”
Those who sign up or renew their museum membership on the day of the event will get a certificate to ride the Lil Toot water taxi for four people. The voucher is redeemable through Dec. 31.
