Along with three siblings, Rev was born in Los Angeles. He attended Los Angeles High School and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1938. During WWII from 1939 to 1945, Rev served as an Army officer. Rev married Lorraine Star at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 1944. He spent his entire career in the investment business, working in Los Angeles and New York. He retired when he was almost 80 years old.
In 1988, after raising three children together, Rev’s wife, Lorraine, died. Three years later, Rev married Janice Watkins Anderson when they were both 74 years old. In 2003, he and Janice moved to the Samarkand Retirement Community where Janice passed away in 2007.
Rev enjoyed playing golf, traveling and telling stories about his early years. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Stark; his three children, Kathleen, Revel and Jeffrey; his four step-daughters, Claudia, Julie, Andrea and Cynthia; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an inspiring man and will be missed by many.
