SANTA BARBARA Granite Construction recently finished the access ramps at the corners of Bath and Mission streets and Castillo and Mission streets as work continues on the Mission Street paving project.
The construction company has nearly completed the concrete hardscape work, which includes sidewalks, access ramps, cross gutters and alley entrances on both sides of Mission Street. The project includes portions of Mission Street from the Highway 101 undercrossing to State Street, according to officials.
This week, construction crews will begin installing light pole foundations along Mission Street. Gas lines will then be located at Mission and De la Vina streets before construction work continues. Part of the construction includes relocating the existing storm drain in the area of Mission and De la Vina, officials said.
The $2.5 million project is still on track to be completed by mid-September. The project funding includes $1.5 million in state gas tax contributions, and $1 million of Measure C city sales tax funds.
