The Montecito Motor Classic is set to make its return to the South Coast next month, and for the first time it will be hosted at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
The eighth annual showcase will include more than 140 world-class rare and exotic cars. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22, with some of the early highlights including the Lamborghini Miura, Jaguar XJ220, Ferrari Enzo, McLaren Senna and the new Ford GT, according to officials.
Entries are being accepted for show cars, including this year’s featured class “Modern Day Hypercar Designs & Period Supercar Milestones.”
In addition to the supercar class, the car show will include an assortment of classes, such as European classics, American muscle cars, pre-war vehicles, race cars, hot rods, and the latest luxury and exotic offerings from around the world, according to a news release.
“We’re confident that this year’s Montecito Motor Classic will be a truly memorable event,” Dolores Morelli Johnson, director of the event, said in a statement. “The new location at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club is a fittingly luxurious new home for our celebration and provides us with ample room to grow for many years to come.”
The event was formerly held on Coast Village Road.
“We couldn’t be more excited for the eightth annual Montecito Motor Classic,” Michael Hammer, support of the event, said in a statement. “This year’s special class should bring some of the most dramatic and exciting cars ever built, while showcasing the cutting-edge work currently pushing the boundaries of automotive potential.”
Event proceeds will benefit the Santa Barbara Police Activities League, Santa Barbara Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti and the Santa Barbara Police Foundation.
Entry to the show is free, while parking provided by the club is $10 per vehicle at the gate or $8 online before the event.
