SANTA BARBARA Highway 101 will experience new closures from Sunday to April 13 due to roadwork for the Linden and Casitas Pass Project. According to a press release, northbound and southbound 101 will have alternating lane closures at night between Linden and Bailard Avenues to allow for lane restriping. At least one lane will remain open during the closure, which will last between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday and from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
Onramps that will experience closures during this period include the southbound 101 on-ramp at Casitas Pass Road, which will close 9 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday and 8 p.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Tuesday, and between 8 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Thursday for the northbound 101 onramp at Casitas Pass Road. Motorists who need to use the southbound onramp should use the onramp at Bailard Ave. and those who need to use the northbound onramp should use the ramps at either Bailard or Linden Avenue.
The currently closed southbound Highway 101 off-ramp at Casitas Pass Road will reopen Sunday.
Once this off-ramp reopens, the 101 off-ramp at Linden Avenue will close at about 9 p.m. that day for between 6 to 9 months thereafter to allow crews to build a new ramp with drainage improvements, new retaining walls, and safety barriers. During this closure, motorists should use the off-ramps at Reynolds Avenue or Casitas Pass Road.
