1930 – 2013
Mayma passed away June 5th, 2013 peacefully, in her sleep at GV Hospital surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She married our father, Rim, on Nov. 5, 1949. They lived in Santa Barbara until daddy passed away, then moved to Ventura where she lived with her daughter, Rebecca.
Mom was a direct descendent of the Santa Barbara Romero’s. She was employed thru the years at many local businesses.
Mayma is preceded in death by her late husband Raymond Morello Jr., son David Morello (Patricia), her father, Antonio Limas Sr., and brother Antonio Limas Jr.
She is survived by her children George Abbott (Janet), daughter-in-law Delphina Abbott, Steven Morello (Sharlene), Yolanda Brooks (Dennis), Rebecca Garcia (Rene). Her mother Emily Rose Cota and sisters, Julia Calderon, Frances Navarro and brother-in-law Ralph Morello and family. 17 Grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held in her honor on June 13th, 2013 at 11 am, Holy Cross Church.
Mom was a tremendous force in the lives she touched, all the kids knew her as Grandma, Gramz, Nana or to us she was Miss Daisy, Mom, Mommy, “Mammu”. The loss of our mom has affected every one of our lives beyond measure, she will be greatly missed.
Our family would like to thank the nursing staff at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital and Dr. Enrico Cerrato for dedicating themselves to her care with such love and compassion. A special thank you to nurses: Donna, Eve, Jenn, Sarah, Michelle, Francisco, Carolyn, and Ashley for making our mommy as comfortable as she could be.
