As of late Tuesday afternoon Pacific time, Norway led the Beijing Olympics with 12 gold medals.
Germany was in second place with nine golds, followed by the U.S. with seven. Austria, The Netherlands and China all had six golds each.
Sweden and Switzerland both had five gold medals, followed by the Russian Olympics Committee with four golds. France had three gold medals.
