An estimated 80 to 125 gallons of oil was released from an historic well in a May 28 spill. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response responded to the spill, according to a news release.
Fifteen birds were found near the location and the Department of Fish and Wildlife advised people to contact the Oiled Wildlife Care Network at 877-823-6926 if they see oiled wildlife.
