Are you a local artist? Aug. 26 is the deadline for entries in the Los Angeles Center For Digital Art 2019 International Juried Competition. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. Video stills are also OK. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work.
The selected winner receives 10 prints up to 44 by 60 inches on canvas or museum-quality paper (approximately a $2,500 to $3,000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in the main gallery. The exhibit will include a reception for the artist. Ten second-place winners will receive one print of their work up to 24 by 36 inches ($150 to $200 in value) to be included in the winners’ exhibits.
Winners will be announced Sept. 2, and exhibit dates will be Sept. 12 through Oct. 5. An Artwalk Preview will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 and an artists’ reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14 at LACDA, 104 E. Fourth St. in Los Angeles.
