“Awakening the Heart: Self-Care and Resilience in Uncertain Times” is the title of a talk in the Mind and Supermind series offered by the SBCC School of Extended Learning from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday in the Schott Auditorium, 10 W. Padre St.
Speakers will be Radhule Weininger, MD, Ph.D., and Michael Kearney, MD. Dr. Weininger, a clinical psychologist and teacher of Buddhist meditation and Buddhist psychology, is the guiding teacher of the One Dharma Sangha and was the resident teacher of mindfulness practice at the La Casa de Maria Retreat Center for 17 years. Dr. Kearney, MD, has over 35 years’ experience of working in palliative care and currently works at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Serenity House.They founded the nonprofit Mindful Heart Programs, which teaches mindfulness at Santa Barbara high schools and hold mindfulness facilitator training in the Santa Barbara Community.
