Artist-in-residence Caroline Hambright will again be offering the Teen Float Building Camp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Summer Solstice headquarters, 631 Garden St. Teens can collaborate and learn the art of creating a parade float. The cost is $250.
The Solstice workshop is open from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday until June 21 at 631 Garden St. Individuals and groups can participate in the parade by submitting applications online to be in the parade or register and make creations at the workshop.
The parade starts at noon June 22 at State and Cota streets and winds its way up State Street, arriving at the festival in Alameda Park, 1400 Santa Barbara St. The theme for this year’s event is “Wonder.”For more information, visitwww.solsticeparade.com.
