Leslie Ridley-Tree
Leslie Ridley-Tree has been named “Camper of the Year,” or honorary event chair, of the Zoofari Ball, in keeping with the Santa Barbara Zoo event’s theme, “Summer Camp.” Mrs. Ridley-Tree is a supporter of the zoo and has attended more than 25 Zoofari balls. In the early years, she and husband Paul could be spotted in jackets sporting all their commemorative Zoofari badges, and she continued the tradition following his death in 2005, according to the zoo. She served as Zoofari honorary chair in 2008 and was on the zoo board from 1993 to 2000. The 21-and-older event, featuring a gourmet dinner, cocktails, dancing and more, takes place 5:30 to 11 p.m. Aug. 24 at the zoo, 500 Niños Drive. Deadline for reservations is Friday.
