Francisca Escobar has been elected board president of Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People. Dr. Escobar has worked for the Goleta Union School District for 30 years. She has taught second through sixth grades and is now the Learning Center teacher working with students from kindergarten through sixth grade. She is active in community groups, including the Santa Ynez High School Band Boosters. Dr. Escobar earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UCSB. She and her husband have lived in Buellton for 24 years. PHP’s mission is to “improve the lives of men, women and children by addressing emergency and basic needs, furnishing comprehensive integrated family and individual support services, and acting as a catalyst for positive community change.”
