Passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 4, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on February 20, 1941, Frank or “Guero” as most people knew him was the epitome of what a strong, proud patriarch of a family should be.
Frank moved to Santa Barbara in the 1960’s to start a new life and worked as an arborist for the City of Santa Barbara. Retiring after 36 years, he opened “Carnitas Jalisco Taqueria,” reviving the old “Rainbow Grill” restaurant location and enjoying every moment. He was also one of the founding members and first president of the Club Azteca of Santa Barbara.
He married Maria de la Luz “Lucy” Salazar, on August 31, 1963 and they have been blessed to have shared nearly 50 years of marriage filled with love and happiness.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy, siblings, Oscar, Margarita, Jaime (deceased), and children, Luis (Christina), Patricia (Heriberto), Marcos, and Joel, and his nine grandchildren, Alyssa, Ariel, Joshua, Nico, Cia, Brian, Gizelle, Marcos Jr, and Michelle.
Services to be announced and arrangements by Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapels.
