Lompoc Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department deputies raided a cannabis cultivation facility operating with an alleged fraudulent license early Monday.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, the sheriff’s Cannabis Compliance Team served a warrant at a cultivation facility in the 2000 block of Wild Oak Road at around 7 a.m.
The warrant was obtained when detectives determined the facility was operating with a fraudulently obtained temporary license.
Deputies destroyed more than 1,300 illegal cannabis plants and approximately 500 pounds of processed cannabis.
The facility operator, a 52-year-old Santa Barbara resident, faces charges of perjury and illegal cultivation of cannabis charges.
The case will be forwarded to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office for review, according to the news release.
