Some 240 Southern California Edison customers throughout Santa Barbara County may be included in the power company’s Public Safety Power Shutoff due to weather conditions that may create the potential for elevated fire risk.
More than 308,000 Edison customers throughout the state are “under consideration” for the shutdown, including customers in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, according to Edison officials.
Power outages may occur Friday. Local affected areas include areas west of Goleta, including Gaviota State Park and Jalama Beach County Park.
