The cities of Santa Barbara and Santa Maria set new record highs on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
Santa Barbara recorded a high of 95 degrees on Thursday, breaking the previous record of 93 degrees set in 2015. Santa Maria reached 102 degrees, breaking the previous record of 100 degrees set in 2012.
