GOLETA The city of Goleta will be hosting a pair of Community Emergency Response Team courses over the next two months.
The training is free and designed to help residents prepare in the event of a catastrophic disaster. The team-based training includes basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available, according to a news release.
Classes will be held on eight consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 4 through March 31. Most classes will be held at the Goleta Valley Community Center, 5679 Hollister Ave. Attendees are required to be at all eight classes in order to take the class.
