With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Rosalie Marie Rieck on December 30th, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. For those who had the pleasure of knowing Rosalie knew her to be a kind, compassionate and always gracious woman who offered her loving heart to all. Rosalie dedicated her life and career to helping those of disability achieve independence and dignity by teaching them self reliance and job skills, bringing those normally living in institutions out to private homes and in to the community. She was instrumental in starting the LOVARC Pilot Employment Program for the Mentally Disabled in Santa Barbara County.
Rosalie is survived by two sons, Steve and Monty Rieck, her daughter Becca Campbell and three grandsons, Cody, William and Brandon, her sister Harriette Buchmann, of Port Angeles WA and a brother, Jim Eddy of Billings Montana, and many nieces and nephews that she loved so. She is now home in the loving embrace of her heavenly father with her sons, Larry and Bill Jr., their father Bill Rieck Sr. and her parents Karl Eddy, and Marie and Harold Baker.
Mom, you instilled in us your love, compassion and wisdom. You found wonder and beauty in everything and everyone. You had endless support and pride in your children and family and were always our biggest fan. You taught us to rejoice in the simple things in life. Your essence and love will be in our hearts forever and always. You are immensely loved and missed. A private service for the family will be held.
