Marvin left his earthly body to be with his loved ones in the spirit world on 27 April 2013. Marvin was born June 8, 1973 in Santa Barbara, CA. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He is survived by his Wife Yvonne and his five children Marvin Jr.- Joshua- Elizabeth – Annie – and Andrew Parents Leo & Helen, Brother Robert and Sister Bonnie. Marvin worked along side his father Leo Rivera in the family drywall/plastering business for over thirty years. He was an avid adventure enthusiast who loved to hike-hunt-fish-camp -surf and motor sport .
Marvin was a respected and active member of the Coastal Band Chumash Indian Community and served his community in the official capacity of Fire Keeper of the Swordfish Clan of the Chumash Nation. He loved the land and culture of his ancestors. Marvin is loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
The family will hold a community pot luck service on June 1st at Elings Park (11-3). All contributions to the family should be made at Wells Fargo bank “Marvin Memorial Checking” acct number 7468175810.
