SANTA MARIA, A Santa Maria man was arrested Monday in connection with a robbery that occurred at a local market in the 500 block of East Boone Street, police said.
At approximately 5:39 p.m., police responded to the market on a report of a robbery that just occurred. As officers responded, a victim reported a male suspect, later identified as Daniel Sarabia, 33, entered the business and selected various items and left without paying. When confronted, Mr. Sarabia pulled out a knife and threatened violence against the victim, according to a news release.
The victim returned to the store and call police as Mr. Sarabia fled. Officers located Mr. Sarabia in the area of Broadway and Cook Street and he was arrested without incident. He was found to be in possession of a knife and the stolen property, police said.
Mr. Sarabia was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of robbery. His bail is set at $100,000.
