100, passed away in Fresno on January 20, 2013 of natural causes. She was born on November 16, 1912 in Houston, Texas and attended school in Inglewood, California, where she graduated high school first in her class. She married Adam Robertson in 1937 and lived in Lennox where they raised two children, Gordon and Forrest. For many years, Flora was an active contributor to the family businesses. After retirement, Adam and Flora moved to Montecito, and subsequent to his death in 1980, she relocated to Carpinteria where she joined the First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Vallecito Chapter of the Eastern Star, serving twice as Worthy Matron. Later, she moved to Wood Glen Hall in Santa Barbara and, recently, to Sunrise Senior Living in Fresno.
Flora is survived by her sons Gordon (Judy) of Cambria and Forrest (Susan) of Wawona, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Tom Robertson and sister-in-law Juanita Robertson, both of Fresno. Many loving nieces, nephews and friends will remember her kindness and vibrant Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five sisters. Viewing will be available at Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Home in Santa Barbara on Friday, February 8 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Burial will take place at the Carpinteria Cemetery on Saturday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Carpinteria on Sunday, February 10, at 2:30 p.m.
