NEW CUYAMA Three people suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash that sparked a small brush fire Thursday morning on State Route 166 in the Spanish Ranch area of New Cuyama, authorities said.
At approximately 4 a.m. Thursday, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department received reports of the crash. Arriving units found that all occupants had escaped the wreckage before the vehicle became fully involved in fire, said Capt. Daniel Bertucelli, fire spokesman.
The fire was approximately 15-foot by 40-foot burning grass nearby. The fire was quickly extinguished before spreading, Capt. Bertucelli said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
