
The family of Harriet Stacy Rosecrans mourns her passing Nov. 30, 2015. She graduated and then married. For 73 1/2 years Harriet and Ray were married. She was 95 years old.
Harriet and Ray settled in Whittier, later Orange County, She taught school then became a school librarian and moved to Bakersfield, where she was the school district librarian at Lamont School District.
Harriet and Ray retired in 1985 and moved to Goleta in 1995. She lived happily in Encina Royale for over 20 years where she cultivated many friendships and enjoyed numerous social events. She especially liked her bridge clubs.
Harriet was a kind and self-less person. She was dedicated to the love and care of her family especially to the care of her daughter, Terry Ann, who was critically injured in an accident and required a lifetime of care.
Harriet was intelligent, stoic and soft spoken. She was of a great generation who went through life with dignity, integrity, and an unfailing positive attitude even in the face of adversities.
She is survived by her daughter Terry Ann Rosecrans, son and daughter-in-law, John and Monica Rosecrans; grandsons, Jerome and Johnny; great granddaughters, Rio and Miley Rosecrans, nieces, Linda Yeager, Judy Norton and nephew Robert Norton.
A remembrance was held on Dec. 16, 2018 at the home of her son. Jayne Simon, Chaplain officiated the ceremony. A scattering of ashes at sea will be observed in a private setting with family.
