The city of Santa Barbara collected approximately $1.76 million in transient occupancy tax for October 2019, an 8.1 percent increase from October last year.
Through Oct. 31, the city has collected approximately $8.5 million in TOT revenues for fiscal year 2019-20, which runs July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The city’s adopted TOT budget is $19,989,179, according to a news release.
Transient occupancy tax, also known as bed tax, is charged on short-term rentals such as hotels and motels.
